Security researchers Persephone Karnstein and Mitchell Marasch last week presented their security research on the onboard computer of electric motorcycles from the [Censored] company.
The research covers in detail the line of thought and different approaches to the task: an onboard computer unit bought on eBay, APK analysis, firmware download from the OTA server, and reverse engineering analysis.
It’s quite handy that the downloaded firmware includes ARMLink dump files with original function names and memory mappings - a very useful “cheat sheet” for reverse engineering.
Enjoy the presentation!
